Lisa Arnold, Assistant Instructor, Manager

Lisa Arnold has been diving for more than 22 years. She found her passion of scuba from her husband, Rob, and they have been diving together ever since. Her favorite destination is Bonaire, with its vast opportunites to dive all day long with her husband and kids. They never tire of learning more about the ocean and how we can all help to keep it safe and healthy for years to come.
They also shared the love of the ocean with their children, Amanda & Rebekah, who are both Open Water certified and working on who can get the most dives per year. Family is the most important thing to Lisa & Rob.
Lisa has worked at Atlanta Scuba for over 10 years. She was the Swim Administrator and implemented many kid- oriented programs such as Summer & Holiday Camps, increased the Birthday Party Schedule and hired many Swim Instructors to make sure the pools were full. She also created the famous Artificial Reef that is used to teach Reef Ecology, Fish Identification and how to preserve Ocean Wildlife.
Unfortunately, she has been fighting for her life the past 3 1/2 years, since being diagnosed with a deadly Bone Marrow Cancer. Lisa went to Seattle, WA. last year to have a life-saving Bone Marrow Transplant at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the University of Washington. It has been quite an ordeal to say the least. She received stem cells from her sister, Denise, who was a perfect match, while deadly Chemotherapy was given to Lisa to kill her bone marrow, blood cells and her immune system.
A problem called Chronic Graft Versus Host Disease has been trying its best to take over the cell engraftment, but with her undying Faith in God, her Doctors' knowledge, many prescription medications and the latest medical technology available, she is still fighting daily to stay alive.
The Arnold Family has so many wonderful people to thank. Those who helped spiritually, financially & physically to make sure they were taken care of before, during and after the transplant. The Arnold's continue to need your support, thoughts & prayers.
The Lisa Cares Foundation was started in January 2006 before she went to Seattle and they want to keep their Foundation going so they can help others with deadly blood diseases, especially children. Those who wish to give to this non-profit foundation can click on the Bubble Blower's Club link on the Home Page. There will also be various fund-raising events in the next months. Check for updates.
