Mike Lawell - Instructor & Webmaster

I started scuba diving in 1999 purely by accident. My roommate needed a buddy to go through the open water class, so I volunteered.
It didn’t take long before my instructor started inviting me on trips to Florida. Soon after, I was on an airplane bound for Cozumel for my first international diving experience and my Advanced Scuba certification.
My love of diving came on with a vengeance. Before I knew it I was involved in the Dive Master program. Next thing you know, I’m in the Instructor program… how did that happen? It’s been a constant thrill ever since; thanks to my Atlanta Scuba family!

One of my favorite U.S. dive destinations is Beaufort, N.C. and during the cold season, you’ll find me in the Florida springs, Crystal River and Rainbow River. I’ve also had the opportunity to spend a month and a half scuba diving in Okinawa, Japan. My future diving plans include Bahamas, Caymans, Bonaire and Belize, although Cozumel is at the top of my list.

I am a computer geek, but my official title is Software Engineering - Director in my 9 - 5 job.

I teach Open Water Scuba, Advanced Diving, Computer Nitrox Diver, Rescue Diving, Deep Diver, Night Diver and Boat Diver certifications. I look forward to meeting new students and seeing all my old diving friends soon!

 Let's go diving!!
