By the time I was 14, I had completed all the Red Cross swim courses
that were available to my age group, so was invited to an advanced
safety class introducing regulator breathing. That class would be my
only taste of SCUBA for a long time. Although I was raised watching
Flipper and Jacque Cousteau, I never dreamed it could be me behind the
regulator enjoying SCUBA as a recreational sport.
Several decades later (no counting please) my husband received an
"Atta Boy!" cruise to Cozumel including one shore activity, Discover
Scuba. Doug and I came up from our first open water dive with the
biggest grins ever! As soon as we got back in the USA, Doug hand
picked Atlanta Scuba as our training site. With Rob's and Jim's help,
we have continued to develop our dive skills ever since.
Since "diving in," I have improved my cardiovascular and spinal
health, made great new friends, eaten terrific food in several
countries, and still lost almost 40 pounds. I attribute these life
changing successes to the addition of SCUBA to my lifestyle.
Sometimes "more" is better! My lifetime experience as a private
teacher and love of SCUBA led me to pursue instructor status. When I
am not at my day job or teaching, you might find me cleaning the
Beluga exhibit at the Georgia Aquarium, or onstage with the Atlanta Symphony Choruses. Better yet, join me in the Cartersville Quarry, the Florida Springs, the Keys, Bonaire, Hawaii, Belize or beyond to see what I have found under the sea!
If you love the water and are captivated by aquatic life, join our family of certified divers to get the best view. We offer the cutting edge in safety training, a customized experience, great trips, no worries, a great laugh, and a cold piece of watermelon after a great dive!
